Creativity at work
“Creativity has three parts: engagement, risk-taking and competition.”
Anthill believes that creativity and innovation are vital elements to enliven any workplace and employee. Theatre, improvisation and storytelling techniques, lie at the heart of the Anthill CKD method. Our programs quickly engage participants in exercises designed to ensure interaction and engagement with each other, facilitate creative risks in a secure environment and break through inhibitions that may hinder optimal performance or teamwork. All this is accomplished within the context of positive and creative playfulness, providing nourishment for teams and organizations that is both invigorating and productive.
Anthill uses stories and the act of storytelling as a learning and development tool. Much of the intellectual capital of any organisation is not written but resides in the minds of the staff. In developing the outcomes or topics you require from the program, anthill will meet with you to define objectives and understand issues.
Our technique is interactive, we engage your personnel through creative exercises, narrative circles, analysis and group discussion. The stories pertinent to your objectives will be identified.
The experiences that give wisdom and insight, that effect business growth, staff and customer relations, are often shared informally around the office or canteen. Anthill believes these stories are a valuable resource. They are a vibrant source of ideas, knowledge, strategy and possibilities.
Consider our creativity and Team Building programs to:
Enliven corporate retreats – Anthill’s new and innovative way of interacting can get people sharing and collaborating like never before.
Gain new perspectives - Sometimes it is only by playing with something, with no apparent outcome but enjoyment, that we can see it in a new way.
Create better relationships - Workmates who can laugh and play with each other will communicate better and work together more efficiently.
Change the pace – Take away the power-point presentation and bring on the creative interaction at your next staff meeting.
Generate new ideas – If the next agenda looks a little uninspiring, we can get the creative juices flowing and get people talking in a new and uninhibited way.
Destress - Do you work in a high stress environment and sometimes wish that you could get to know your colleagues in a different light?
Storytelling in the workplace

“We can recognize a new experience or new possibilities through a story.”
Stephen Denning
Consider a storytelling based program to:
Improve working relationships – The use of storytelling techniques will get your people talking. They will learn about each other in a collaborative and supportive framework that recognizes and builds on their contributions and experience.
Increase communication skills – The Anthill technique of storytelling and listening will have your people communicating, learning and expressing more of themselves than ever before.
Address culture change issues – Get your staff communicating in a safe and playful context. We will get things moving forward where memorandums, training events, staff emails and directives have reached a standstill.
Develop clarity and purpose – Sometimes the road ahead is clouded with intangible possibilities. We will use past experience as a guide to illuminate the best possible future.
Utilize knowledge sharing – The information and experience stored in the minds of your staff is highly valuable. Our technique will bring out this stored resource of experience for the benefit of all. People will begin to see eachother as untapped resources they can use in moving forward.
Create an authentic workplace culture – It is the sharing our experience, that is a fundamental building block of human relationship. Stronger relationship has manifold benefits that will enrich your business and workplace.
“Storytelling is fundamental to the human search for meaning”
Mary Catherine Bateson
